Meet Barry Hackett

Barry is a portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in hand tailored images and cinematic short films for organizations, brands and good old fashioned regular folks. His client list includes multinational brands, non profit organizations and a growing list of people he simply refers to as friends.

As a visual story teller he experiments with the relationship between composition and light to explore landscapes near and far as well as the radiant people that he encounters along the way.

Inspired by his roots in the Californian surf culture, Barry is frequently drawn to escape the crowds of Los Angeles in search of remote coastlines and rousing new adventures. The camera, a resulting extension of his lifestyle, serves as his preferred medium for expressing his unique view of the world.

The product of an upbringing where rural and urban collide, Barry has always existed between two worlds and his photographic style reflects that intersection. Finding harmony in the convergence of the past and present, concrete and dirt, surf and sand, people and places - and all the circumstances that hold these things together. For that reason you will find that this website is dedicated to his uninhibited creative expression, regarding a broad variety of topics and artistic pursuits.

Barry holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Sciences in International Business & Marketing from San Diego State University. He has worked as a maternity photographer, family photographer, and creator of cinematic family films. In addition to his personal work, Barry is also the lead photographer and cofounder of the highly regarded boutique wedding photography team known as Hitched Photo.
